I learned yesterday that I was accepted for a two-week residency in April at the Morris Graves Foundation. The Foundation was set up to ensure that the home and property of Morris Graves in Humboldt County, California, would endure as a retreat for artists.

The directors of the residency clearly characterize the residency as a retreat. Only one artist is ever in residence at a time, and use of digital and communications technology is discouraged. This is in keeping with Graves's own misgivings about the encroachment of technology upon the life of the mind and the life of the spirit. Needless to say, I won't be live-blogging the residency.

I would link to something for more information about the residency, but there is nothing to link to. I found out about this because of the research I did on my 2010 review of "Morris Graves: Falcon of the Inner Eye" at Michael Rosenfeld Gallery. A conversation ensued. Here we are.
