About the Blog
I began publishing art writing online in 2000. Artblog.net went live in May 2003, when there was only a handful of other art blogs in existence. Since then, Artblog.net has been cited by the Wall Street Journal, Art & Auction Magazine, the New York Observer, and the Miami New Times, among others.
Artblog.net seeks to apply clear looking, clear thinking, and clear writing to visual art. I post exhibition reviews, art book reviews, reports on comics and illustration, essays on a broad range of concerns within visual art, special publications, and reports from my studio. Artblog.net publishes on the whim of the author. To receive notifications of new posts, subscribe.

If you're a business that supplies materials or services of interest to artists, and you're willing to offer discounts to Artblog.net readers, I will put a link to your offer on the sidebar free of charge. Artblog.net has thus partnered with Utrecht Art Supplies and I'm interested in featuring other businesses as well. Please contact me to work out the arrangements.
Artblog.net runs on a home-made content management system written in XSLT implemented on an instance of CherryPy. I'm grateful to John Hovig for several years of technical assistance with the earlier version of this blog. The 2011 relaunch was made possible thanks to further technical assistance from Chris Rywalt.
