Out of 29 posts currently on the visual arts page of ArtsJournal, twelve of them are from British news sources. That's disturbing to think about in light of a recent Washington Monthly article by Richard Florida (thanks AJ) called "Creative Class War: How the GOP's anti-elitism could ruin America's economy." Don't roll your eyes just yet - he talks about how overseas outsourcing is becoming a phenomenon among the creative industries. It's worth contemplating whether there is a connection, to say the least.

UPDATE: No, really, read it. He ties in the culture wars, framing them convincingly as a product of demographic and macro political shifts.
