sunshine and wealth

Post #173 • December 15, 2003, 3:53 PM

From the UK Telegraph (Thanks, Arts Journal):

Yet Art Basel Miami Beach's success is almost guaranteed by [Art Basel director Samuel] Keller's organisational virtuosity and his ability to involve the whole community in his ventures. In addition, Miami had already established its credentials as an art-world destination, so the fair had legs even before it started. And who could resist five days of top art and fabulous parties in a tropical, designer paradise? It's clear that ABMB is no flash in the pan, but is an irresistible combination of Swiss business acumen, Florida sunshine and large doses of untapped wealth. As one German gallery owner pointed out, You really only need this fair now.
